Try , exit WD, then delete the files: latest.inf and or latestindoor.inf and or graphdata.inf and or graphdata2.inf etc, from the folder datafiles, then restart weather display
If it says Client, com port disconnected, then you have it in client mode, under the ftp setup, client server (use only for when you are getting data from a version connected to a weather station), and turn that switch off on the client/server setup page and restart the program.
The first place to check is under view, program error log. If there is an access violation when the program first starts, then check if you previously had either the weather voice or web cam options enabled. For the weather voice, you most likely will need to download the british female speech driver. For direct web cam capture, go back to the settings page, and untick restore settings on restart. Other errors can result from a corrupted wdisplay.ini file, in the folder c:\windows or c:\winnt. There is back up produced every 10 minutes, called wdisplayinibackup.ini, where weather display is installed.
Check you have the main internet switch ON, under setup, ftp/internet setup, connections. If you are running your own web server, either localy or over a LAN, and you have unticked use weather display ftpupd.exe because of no need to FTP files to the web server, you will need to tick "still use for all other".
Check you have the main internet switch ON, under setup, ftp/internet setup, connections.
It may be becuase of a updated version of the ftpupd.exe file, and your firewall has blocked its access. You will need to give it permission.
Simply delete or rename that file and restart weather display.
Make sure the file is called wxlocal.html (and not wxlocal.htm) and its in the webfiles folder, or where you have set weather display to save the web files (under setup, ftp/internet setup, web files).
Check you dont have ticked, use this metar data to update the weather station data, under setup, ftp/internet setup, FTP/metar download.
Try scheduling the send time to a time when there are no other agenda itmes.
You will need to change the name of the DUN name, under your Dial up networking settings in the control panel in the windows setup.
Check you have the lat/long setup correctly, under view, sun moon (a new formula is now in use, and if you live in the USA, the longitude (i.e WEST/EAST) ) will be postive number now.
Check you do not have ticked, under input daily weather, use this image as the icon, or maybe you have ticked use the forecast icon as the icon under setup, summary image / icon setup.
Under graph setup, graph time delay, turn that on (works best for short duration data breaks, but does not apply to the WS2010 data logger).
Weather display has a bug where it does not properly handle a full data logger buffer that has wrapped around. Please clear the data logger.
You could install weather display to a new directory, and then create a file called 2wd with notepad there, before starting it (or 3wd, etc) (so that the file name is called 2wd.txt or 3wd.txt, etc). Or, delete the settings found in wdisplay.ini, in c:\windows or c:\winnt (and delete the registry entry wdisplayftp.ini from the registry using regedit.exe click here for help with this ).
Exit, then delete the file fwi.inf, in the folder datafiles, and then restart (this is the fire weather index data file).
Check the view, program error log for any errors. Also check you have ticked, do averages/extreme update, under setup, ftp/internet setup, web upload times. Also, try going action, update averages/exteme now. If no go, then delete the file (for februrary 2003, february2003.htm and the file weekrep.htm, in the folder web files, and the file dailylog.txt, in the folder logfiles, and exit and restart the program, and try again. You can reset/recreate the averages/extreme web file, via view, averages/extreme (scroll down).
Use action, reset selected all time records
Delete the file datahtm0.txt, in the folder web files, and then restart the program
You can add what you like to the files datahtm0.txt, datahtm3.txt, but to alter datahtm2.txt, you will need to tick, let me manage datahtm2.txt, under setup, ftp/internet setup, web files.
You will need to tick which files to update in the box at the bottom of that setup screen. I recommend you use the setup, customise the internet file creation/upload, option (enable with the master over-ride switch).
You will need to not use large fonts for your desktop windows properties, effects.
You may have use custom web page enabled under setup, ftp /internet setup, custom web page....in which case you would need to have the custom tags as found in the file owntemplate.txt in a file called wxlocal.html, which then gets converted to wx.html, which is then uploaded (instead of the filename you have set under webfiles).
Weather display uses the raw unadjusted barometer reading from your station. You will need to add a barometer offset, under setup, barometer offset, other offsets and rainfall.
Weather display stores its rain totals separate from the weather station (so that you can set rain seasons, or use 9am reset time), and so you will need to enter starting rain totals, under setup, barometer offset, other offsets and rainfall.
You will need to decrease the minimum temperature scale, bottom right hand corner of the real time graph.
